Help / FAQ

How can we help?

Answers to the questions we hear most about buying tickets, paying with mobile money and running an event on KwataTix.

Buying tickets

How do I buy a ticket?

Open the event, choose your ticket type and press Buy Ticket. Enter your name, pick MTN Mobile Money or Orange Money, then approve the payment prompt on your phone.

Browse events
Do I need an account?

No. You can buy tickets with just your name and a mobile money number.

How many tickets can I buy at once?

Up to 10 tickets per order. For more, place another order.

Where do I find my ticket?

As soon as the payment is approved, your ticket's QR code appears on screen. Take a screenshot or keep the page open so you can show it at the entrance.

Payments

Which payment methods can I use?

MTN Mobile Money and Orange Money. Prices are in XAF (Central African CFA franc).

I didn't get the payment prompt, or it expired.

You have about 2 minutes to approve the prompt on your phone. If it doesn't arrive or runs out, check that the number is right and has enough balance, then try again. A payment you didn't approve isn't taken.

I was charged but didn't get a ticket.

Contact us with the phone number you paid with and, if you have it, your order number, so we can look into the payment.

Refunds and changes

Can I get a refund?

Tickets are generally non-refundable, unless the organiser's own refund policy allows it or the event is cancelled or significantly changed.

Read the Terms
What happens if an event is cancelled?

Everyone who bought a ticket gets a full refund of the ticket price.

What if the date or venue changes?

The organiser must update the event. If you can't make the new date, you can ask for a refund within the period set out in the Terms.

At the event

How do I get in?

Show your ticket's QR code at the entrance. It's scanned once, so each ticket lets one person in, one time. Don't share it before the event.

For organisers

How do I put my event on KwataTix?

Use Register Event. Add the event details, date and venue, a banner, your ticket types and your payout details, verify your identity once with an ID document and a facial photo, accept the Terms and publish.

Register an event
Can I save my event and finish later?

Yes. Press Save as Draft. Your unfinished form is also kept on the device you're using until you publish or clear it.

What does it cost?

KwataTix keeps a service fee of 10% of the ticket price for every ticket sold. It is deducted from each sale before the rest is paid out to you.

How do I get paid?

Ticket revenue, minus the service fee, is paid to the mobile money or bank account in your Payout Details. Payout timing is set out in the Terms.
